Last spring, after my daughter Sofia told me about her field trip to see a concert of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, I got this crazy idea to photograph my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye during each season. As it happens with me, each photo shoot was an adventure and the Winter shoot was no different. The thing is that I live in Houston, TX and we don't get much snow down here ya know? Call me crazy but even though I was aware of this fact I was set on having a snow scene for the Winter photo, so I pleaded with mother nature to send me some snow. But no dice. So what did I do? I broke my own rule (no man made elements to represent the seasons)and bought something as close to snow as you can get:
Snow In Seconds Let me tell you, this stuff is awesome! It looks just like snow, it's non toxic, it's cold, and it's a ton of fun. And it photographs well,at least I think so. So you know who was eager to help right? My girlies of course:

La primavera pasada, despues que mi hija Sofia fué a un concierto de Las Cuatro Estaciones de Vivaldi, se me ocurrió una idea loca de tomarle fotos a mi cámara Kodak Brownie Hawkeye en cada estación. Como es constumbre conmigo, cada sesión de fotos es una aventura y la sesión de el Invierno no fué diferente. La cosa es que yo vivo en Houston, TX y aqui no neva con frecuencia. Creanme loca pero aunque yo estaba totalmente conciente de este detalle yo estaba empeñada en que la foto de el invierno iba a tener nieve, asi que le rogué a la madre naturaleza para que me mandara un poquito de nieve pero que va. Nada. Entonces que fué lo que hice? Rompí mi regla (no elementos hechos por el hombre para representar cada estación)y compré nieve de mentirita! Esta fue la que compré y les cuento que funciona buenisimo! Parece nieve de verdad, es fría y no es tóxica. Y creo que sale bien en la foto. Y claro ya saben quienes querían ayudar no? Mis chiquitas:

OK no, I am serious now, do not steal my snow! haha/ OK no, ahora en serio no se roba la nieve de mami!jajaj
And then it got windy and the snow started flying off, but I persevered and here is the final result/ y luego se vino un ventarron y la nieve se empezó a volar, pero no me rendí y aqui esta el resultado final:
Please tell me you see the "snow" or I am going to cry! hehe/ Diganme que si se ve la "nieve" o voy a llorar! jaja

Crazy ideas turned into to reality....I love it when things work out just like you imagined them/ Ideas locas hechas realidad...Me encanta cuando las cosas salen como te las imaginaste.
